The water filters though the ancient volcanic rocks of the Ben Rinnes mountain. It is soft and low in minerals: perfect for distilling, delivering an exceptionally smooth and delightful mouthfeel. The is rather unusual - many gins and vodkas bring their spirits to drinking strength away from where they are made. We prefer to use our Scottish spring water. Water quality really matters. Our processes and procedures, regular measuring and testing, superb ingredients, and the equipment in our lab all contribute to making Eight Lands memorable for the right reasons. We don’t claim to be perfect but we try to be responsible, sustainable and respectful in our activities. Today, our distillery has roof-mounted solar panels to help with energy capture. Our condenser system recirculates water to minimise water wastage. Our packaging, including for postage for direct sales, is almost entirely recyclable. Our decision to use only organic ingredients has significant benefits for ecology.
